The tenth week again delivered, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that attracts so many people into the NFL

That result could have created things up for the Patriots to creep back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Did Josh Allen attempt too much or could it simply have been a poor performance for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to address

The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a row against Miami but were second best from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and display

MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and first points in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's top offences

Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns

Bottling up the league's best running game was also key, with James Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard average

Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the two from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine minute possession yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that Miami converted to seven points just two plays

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this season

The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay next week as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the American Football Conference East

Spotlight - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three 8-2 teams in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the top team?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their combined 24 wins coming against opponents with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Denver

The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time success in Orchard Park appears to be a statement

Their two defeats came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven consecutive victories, similar to Denver, since then - but taking down Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was huge

Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly earns credit for bravery after taking some hard tackles in Tampa but persevering to steer his side to success

The defense is reliable and rookie rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to exceed 22mph this year on his initial touchdown

While you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to end with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which features just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a significant contest against the Bills

Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the schedule

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There is a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is available for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference

Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Next Week Showdown

Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 sides are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who each put up 40 burgers to reach seven and two ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in Los Angeles

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a game

Both could easily be without a loss as too - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play blocked and returned by the Eagles for a score

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they're genuinely among the top teams in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the year so far

Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
