Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors said the 45 charges comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
