Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.

For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
