New information has come to light concerning the untimely demises of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.

A Discovery

A source indicates citing a person close to the family, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the residence. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

After gaining access to the home, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Subsequently, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, as well as the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained without bail.

Clarifications

The confidential informant questioned several previously reported details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.

Additionally disputed circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to reports of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports indicated the condition of their bodies implied they had been deceased for some hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
