Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is unclear and the American officials has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
