Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and applying sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
