The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with using the total value of seized Russian holdings to bolster the Ukrainian defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the officials of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They further noted that the decision would be carried out in strong partnership with the United States.

UK restrictions have blocked more than £25bn of Russia's funds since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, resources provided to the Ukrainian government using Russia's funds had exclusively been sourced from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and Germany were aligned in their aim to advance efforts toward utilizing the total worth of the frozen Moscow's national assets to conclude the conflict.

He noted that further measures in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This declaration comes after EU officials convened in Copenhagen last week to discuss employing frozen Russia's assets for a €140bn credit to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to take or employ seized Russian holdings, as reported by reports.

The total of frozen Russia's funds in the Europe is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

President Zelensky calls on UK's Sir Keir Starmer to take part in the Purl initiative

Moscow launched extensive aerial attacks across Ukraine on Friday, resulting in power cuts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

A pair of individuals were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were hurt in the strike, Ukrainian officials said.

In a message on social media after the attack, Zelensky commented that the premeditated assault targeted non-military and power facilities.

"The necessity is not mere statements but firm measures - from the America, EU, and the seven nations - in delivering defense mechanisms and implementing sanctions," he wrote.

"All penalty impositions weakens the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

In the same period, Zelensky stated to reporters he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the Purl scheme, under which alliance members acquire weapons from the US to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While commending the United Kingdom's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he said it should indicate firmly that it would engage in the system, as well as impose further sanctions on the Russian Federation.
